American Flag Pillow Pattern

Supplies:

  • 13 small star buttons
  • Navy, White, and Red yarn
  • Size I hook
  • 12 x 15 pillow form insert

BACK

With Navy, ch 42.

Row 1: Hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. [40]

Rows 2-26: Ch 2, turn; hdc across. [40] On Row 26, do not finish off! (initial chains do not count toward stitch count)

BACK EDGING

Rnd 1: Ch 1, do not turn; sc in last hdc on Row 26; work 32 sc evenly spaced across end of rows; 3 sc in ch at base of first hdc, sc in each ch across to last ch [40], 3 sc in last ch; work 32 sc evenly spaced across end of rows; working across Row 26, 3 sc in first hdc, sc in each hdc across [40], 2 sc in same st as first sc; join with slip st to first sc. [152].

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st and in each sc around, working 3 sc in center sc of each corner 3-sc group; join with slip st to first sc, finish off. [160].

FRONT

With Red, ch 42.

JOINING

Tie off all loose ends and weave in.  Matching bottom edges, place Front and Back with wrong sides together; ch 1, with Front facing and working through both loops of each sc on both pieces, sc in same st and in each sc around working 3 sc in center sc of each corner 3-sc group and insert a pillow form before closing; join with slip st to first sc, finish off.

Using photo as a guide for placement, sew 13 star buttons to front.
